CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Full cured block of FAIRSCREED EP Chemical resistance.
Surface Preperation
The substrate should be clean, dry and free from oil, grease and other contaminants such as foaming lubricants and curing components which would affect adhesion of coating. New concrete must be a minimum of 28 days old before FAIRSCREED EP application. The moisture content of the concrete should be less than 5%. Preparation of concrete is achieved by either shot blasting, grinding, scarfing or acid-etching.
Priming
Mix SAFECORE WB PRIMER in the proportions supplied, and apply by brush or roller spreading to thin film on prepared floor. Examine after 30 minutes and apply more material to any areas that have absorbed the primer. Commence the application of FAIRSCREED EP after 2 hours (at 30ºC) of applying the primer or primer becomes tack free.
Mixing
Thoroughly mix the Base and Hardener packs together, then blend in the aggregate.
Expansion Joints
Expansion joints in the existing substrate must be maintained and continued through the FAIRSCREED EP topping filled to the new level with an FAIRSEAL joint sealant.
Topping
The mixed resin-aggregate should be raked out to a uniform thickness, tamped with a wood float to ensure complete consolidation and finally finished with steel trowel. Do not rub steel trowel more, which may lead to burn marks.
Sealing
In wet operation, areas and where high degree for cleanliness is required the FAIRSCREED EP topping may be sealed with AFECORE SEALER or Floor coating SAFECORE EP (F). (See separate technical data sheet)
Cleaning
Tools and equipments should be cleaned with SAFECORE TOOL CLEANER.
PACKING & COVERAGE
FAIRSCREED EP consist of Base, Hardner and aggregates is available in 25kg pack. It covers approx. 4 to 6 m² @ 4mm thickness.
SHELF LIFE & STORAGE
FAIRSCREED EP will have a shelf life of 12 months in unopened containers when kept in dry conditions at a temperature between 5ºC to 45ºC. Storage at higher temperature or high humidity may reduce shelf life.
SPECIFICATION
FAIRSCREED EP is a heavy-duty trowel applied solvent free epoxy floor screed with excellent chemical and abrasion resistant properties covering the area of approx. 4 to 6 m² at 4mm thickness, strictly in accordance with the instruction of FAIRMATE.
